Core Functional Description

1. Signal Transmission (TX)

The WTR2605 receives digital I/Q (In-phase and Quadrature) data from the baseband processor (such as an MSM series SoC). It converts these digital signals into analog waveforms, up-converts them to the target radio frequency (e.g., 1800 MHz or 2100 MHz), and prepares them for the Power Amplifier (PA). Because it uses a direct-conversion architecture, it eliminates the need for bulky Intermediate Frequency (IF) filters, significantly saving space on the mobile motherboard.

2. Signal Reception (RX)

In the receive path, the IC takes weak incoming signals from the antenna and Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA). It performs down-conversion to baseband, filters out noise and adjacent channel interference, and provides the signal to the processor for decoding. The WTR2605 is designed with integrated RX filters to minimize the bill of materials (BOM) for phone manufacturers.
